Online DST Inspection

DST File Viewer | PNG to DST

Don't risk a machine crash. We analyze your DST files for errors, density issues, and missing trims. Get a professional PDF proof and a fixed file in 24 hours.

Why won't it open?

DST is a machine code format, not an image. Regular computers don't have the software to read "needle commands." You need a dedicated embroidery viewer to see what's inside.

Simulated Preview

Our service uses industrial Wilcom software to generate a TrueView™ simulation. This shows you exactly how the thread will lay on fabric, including 3D texture and light reflection.

Error Correction

Free viewers just show the file. We fix it. If your design has jump stitches, broken segments, or wrong density, our professional digitizers will repair the code for you.

Technical Deep Dive

Why Your DST File Looks "Wrong"

DST files are ancient technology (from the 1980s). They are purely "XY" coordinate maps. This leads to two common scary visual issues that are actually normal:

  • Weird Colors: DST files do not save colors. They only check "Stop and change thread". Viewers assign random default colors (usually ugly greens and blues). We provide a PDF with correct Pantone assignments.
  • Ugly Lines: Those lines connecting letters are "Jump Stitches". Machines trim them, but basic viewers often show them as solid thread. We verify if they are true trims or messy jumps.

File Analysis

Is Your File Corrupt?

A corrupt or poorly digitized file causes thread breaks, birdnesting, and needle breakage. We open your file in professional editor software to check for:

  • Extremely High Density

Too many stitches in one spot creates a "bulletproof" patch that breaks needles.

  • Tiny Stitches

Stitches under 2mm can cause thread shredding on automatic trimmers.

  • Missing Underlay

Without underlay, your designs will shift and look distorted (gaposis).

You Asked, We Answered

Clarifying the confusion around embroidery machine files.

Ask an Expert
Technically, DST files DO NOT hold color data. They only hold 'commands' to switch to the next needle. However, we can generate a PDF 'Production Worksheet' that tells you exactly which Thread Color corresponds to each step (Needle 1, Needle 2, etc.), so you can set up your machine correctly.
Yes. Corruption often happens due to header errors, unclosed paths, or simply because the design is too large for your hoop. We can inspect the code, clean up the errors, resize it if needed, and send you a working file.
Yes! That's called a 'Virtual Sew-Out'. We load the file into Wilcom software and export a high-resolution, photorealistic image that looks like real thread on fabric. This is perfect for customer approvals.
Those are 'Jump Stitches'. Your machine is supposed to trim them. If your machine doesn't have auto-trimmers, or if the digitizing settings were wrong, they appear as ugly lines. We can edit the file to ensure the trims command is inserted correctly.
